Red Wings coach Mike Babcock called it a “hard check.'' Zetterberg said it was a “hockey hit''
Zetterberg:
“I don't think it deserved five,'' Zetterberg said. “It was a no-call from the beginning, both refs didn't do anything, and then when they saw the guy was down all the sudden it was five. If they think it's not a penalty right away it's tough to make it out to a five. I didn't see he deserved to get kicked out of the game. Maybe two (minutes).''
Babcock:
"He’s a physical guy that’s taking the body hard. His shoulder hit his shoulder and the kid went down hard and they called it a major."
Kronwall:
"They said he was coming with too much speed, that’s why he got kicked out,'' Kronwall said. "I thought the hit itself, just looking briefly at the replay, looked like it was shoulder to shoulder."
"Zetterberg said the league should consider that the initial contact was shoulder to shoulder." (Na azt várhatjuk!)
Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau offered no opinion on the play, saying, “The league has done a pretty good job with these things. Mr. (Brendan) Shanahan (who handles discipline) can look at it
